Dear Imagination Library Parents, Caregivers, and Supporters,
We're reaching out with an important update regarding Dolly Parton's Imagination Library (DPIL) in Washington.
As you may know, Washington is facing a particularly challenging budget year. Unfortunately, this has jeopardized the state's funding commitment for the Imagination Library. For the past couple of years, the state has supported local Imagination Library programs in Washington by matching 50% of the monthly book and mailing expenses.
What This Means for Your Family
Your local Imagination Library program is operated by passionate volunteers and organizations in your community. These Local Program Partners work tirelessly to raise funds to match the State's 50% partnership and enroll children so families can receive high-quality books at no cost. But without state support, Local Program Partners would have to cover 100% of the monthly book and mailing cost, putting many local programs at risk of closing.
For the first time in its 30-year history, a statewide Imagination Library program could lose funding - unless we act now.
