Imagination Library of Washington is excited to announce a $100,000 matching gift opportunity in support of King County early learners! Now through June 1st, every contribution made to Imagination Library of Washington during the “Champions for Literacy” Match Campaign will be doubled by a very generous anonymous donor. This funding will directly contribute to providing books to early learners in King County through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, fostering the growth, connection, and academic preparedness of children through the creation of their very own home libraries. More than 121,000 children under age five are eligible for the program in King County alone, the largest early learner population in the state. Currently, over 15,000 King County children are receiving books from the Imagination Library every month.

“This is an extraordinary opportunity to double your impact with this very generous match offer. King County has the largest early learning population (ages birth to five) in the state, and this program has become hugely popular with strong enrollment. It is going to take the village of local support to meet the $100k goal so we can receive the full match, and it will require long-term engagement and financial support to ensure the local King County Imagination Library program thrives. Please consider giving to this equitable, impactful, engaging early literacy program through the “Champions for Literacy Match Campaign,” stated Imagination Library of Washington’s Executive Director, Brooke Fisher-Clark.

Reading is the cornerstone to learning and success. Access to early literacy opportunities like Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library not only prepares our youngest children for kindergarten, but also significantly enhances a child’s academic success through their K-12 journey, and beyond. Established as a tribute to her father in 1995, Dolly Parton created the Imagination Library to help kids develop a love of reading and learning. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library mails a high quality, age-appropriate book each month to children from the day they are born up until their fifth birthday, at no cost to families.

In Washington, the Imagination Library is supported by a collaborative funding approach involving the Imagination Library of Washington, The Dollywood Foundation, and local program partners responsible for managing programs across the state. We are immensely grateful to this anonymous donor for their commitment to supporting this program and for leading the way in encouraging community support, essential for the program's sustainability in King County.

You have the power to transform a child's life and double your impact with a donation to Imagination Library of Washington’s “Champions for Literacy” Match Campaign. Help us put more books into the hands and hearts of King County early learners now until June 1st!
